Special Announcement

Just prior to the film being shown, Meryl Dorey made a special announcement via AVN Facebook live advising that the APN newspaper group would no longer be accepting advertising from the AVN and Dorey let rip on some anti-vaccination supporters, calling them cowards.

Here is a full-transcript of her angry rant:

Hi everyone. This is Meryl, I'm just at the cinema where we're going to be showing Vaxxed tonight. And I have some news that I wanted to share with you. It's something that happened just before we left the hotel to come here tonight.

The AVN had booked some advertisements in the paper in Bundaberg and the paper in Maryborough, we'd paid ads. And all the ad said, it had a picture of the tshirt, here I'll show you. It had the Vaxxed tshirt with the needle and it said "the film they don't want you to see" and on one side of the needle it said Bundaberg or Maryborough depending on which event it was and the dates. And on the other side it said 'To book tickets' and the AVN website address.

So there was nothing controversial about the ads, nothing at all. It was just simply advertising a PG-rated film. And just before we left for the cinema tonight, we got a call from a very apologetic salesperson at APN, which is a newspaper chain that owns the two papers. They also own the Townsville paper, they own about 80 newspapers in Queensland and northern New South Wales. And what he said was that there had been an email chain going around to at least ten executives at APN and finally the decision was made that they would not run the ads for the AVN. They would not advertise a film that was being shown. A film about government corruption and censorship was being censored.

Now every year, around the world, approximately a hundred journalists get killed because they reported the truth in countries where the media is censored. In Australia, there is no government censorship but media outlets are actually censoring, self-censoring, they're censoring themselves. It is shocking. Now I cannot tell you what to do, I can't. But I can tell you, people talk about conspiracy theories; there is no theory here. There is a conspiracy to stop anyone from getting information about Vaxxed, about this issue, about what is happening in the world of vaccination.

There is a conspiracy to suppress information about children and adults who have been injured or killed by vaccines. There is a conspiracy to suppress, censor, bully, fine. Basically do everything except kill any family that does not vaccinate fully. What I really cannot imagine is that this is going to be allowed to happen in a country like Australia. A country that's supposed to be a democratic nation.

Now again, I cannot tell you what to do. But if I had a subscription to any newspaper published by APN - that's the Northern Star, that's the paper in Townsville, that's all papers all through northern New South Wales and southern Queensland. If I had a subscription, I would be calling them tomorrow and cancelling my subscription. But not just cancelling my subscription; I would be telling them why. I will not pay a newspaper that supports censorship, that actually suppresses information about families who've been affected by major… by drug and vaccine reactions.

The other thing that I would be doing is, if I had advertisements in any APN newspaper, I would be calling them tomorrow and cancelling my ad. I would be saying until they support freedom of speech, human rights and a health choice in Australia - which are all things that, god knows, not only the media but the government and the community at large should be doing - I will not pay you one cent for advertising. I will cancel any outstanding ads I have with you and I will not take any more out until you change this policy of censorship.

The other thing I have to say - and oh my god - it is just amazing. We have received text messages from several people who were coming tonight. What happened was, somehow - and all of our screenings are, you know, are private screenings and we have not released the venue until two hours beforehand - yet somehow, somebody here released the venue location to the Townsville Bulletin and the Bulletin published this a couple of days ago. And we have had text messages from people who had bought tickets to the screening tonight saying that they're not coming because they're afraid that someone is going to see them here and know that they don't vaccinate.

I don't even know where to begin with that. Like, I've been doing this for 27 years. My children, my eldest son is already vaccine injured, the rest of my children are not vaccinated and they never will vaccinate. I'm not doing this for me, I'm doing this for everyone else's children. I'm doing this for my grandchildren. You need to stand up. You need to stop being so afraid. You need to be brave. Because honestly, if you are afraid to be seen at a screening of Vaxxed, well, you need to crawl into a hole because nobody is going to protect you if you don't stand up and protect yourself. Nobody. Nobody is going to protect you. I'm not going to protect you. The AVN is not going to protect you.

The AVN is a small organisation made up of you and you and all these people.
If you are too shit-scared - excuse the expression - but if you are too scared to come out and watch a documentary with a group of other people who all support freedom of choice, human rights and freedom of speech, then honestly you don't belong in Australia. I know that sounds really harsh and really tough but it is how I feel. I put myself on the line here every day because I feel so strongly about this. Quite honestly, you need to stand up. You need to be brave.
You need to stop being such a coward. Don't let the haters stop you. We need to stand together, we need to unite, we need to be strong. And we need to stop allowing the people who… I mean, what are you afraid of? What are you afraid of, that somebody's going to yell at you on Facebook? Big deal. You know, if you will not stand up and protect your own children from what is happening in Australia today, then we haven't got a hope. We honestly haven't got a hope.

So, I have to go inside in a minute because the film is about to start.
Thank you to everyone who came tonight and everyone who will be coming to the venues along the road.

Obviously the media is not going to help us to advertise in Bundaberg and Maryborough so if everyone in Bundaberg and Maryborough who has friends that they think might like to come to this, please ask them. Send them a text, tell them where it's going to be, give them a link to the AVN website where they can buy tickets. We need to circumvent the fake news media and we need to be strong and we need to be united and we need to help each other. We're a community, let's act like a community, ok?

Q&A Highlights

Heckenlively lived up to his reputation as the World's No.1 Clown, starting off the Q&A session with his juvenile digs at Malcolm and Lucy Turnbull.

The hilarity escalated throughout the session with Heckenlively seemingly suggesting anti-vaccination activists face similar obstacles and atrocities to what Nelson Mandela and the Dalai Lama faced, and that anti-vaccinationists are just like activists who were trapped behind the Iron Curtain.

Here's are a few excerpts of Heckenlively in Townsville:

Hoop-la! The Circus is in Town!sville

Kent Heckenlively & Meryl Dorey:

Heckenlively:
My name is Kent Heckenlively and I have successfully used a disguise to sneak into Australia.

Now, I have to ask a question, my good friend Lucy Turnbull said that she'd be there. Lucy, are you there? She said she would sneak away from Malcolm, that beast, for tonight. Did she make it? Lucy? Lucy?

Dorey:
Has anyone seen Lucy here?

Heckenlively:
Lucy, Lucy, are you there? I guess she didn't get away from her security detail.

Not damaged, just sleeping

Kent Heckenlively:

What I've come to the conclusion about, so this is really important, is what we call autism or these problems is not necessarily that our children have been permanently damaged but that their bodies have gone into sleep mode, okay?

Sleep mode is different than damage mode. So I think that we can awaken these children, I think we can get them back, even if their adult. And we just have to use that as a guide.

No Safe Vaccine

Kent Heckenlively:

But I really think that there's probably no way to make a safe vaccine.

And I think that's what the pharmaceutical companies have come to realise, people at the very top. And so they are never going to have a discussion with us because if they have an honest discussion with us it's gonna come out that this is, unfortunately, just a bad idea.

You know, maybe it was a good idea at the time they started but there's so many inherent problems with vaccinations that they'd probably have to scrap the entire system and start over again.
